Heartland Gets NPFL Approval To Return To Owerri

Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) side Heartland FC has been granted provisional approval to play its remaining home games of the 2023/2024 season at the Dan Anyiam Stadium in Owerri, Imo State.

This followed observed improvements on their pitch after a second inspection within the last two weeks.

However, this approval does not extend to the next season as another comprehensive review of facilities at the stadium will be carried out in line with Facilities Criteria of the Club Licensing requirement.

The club will therefore host its Match Day 31 fixture against Shooting Stars Sports Club (3SC) at the stadium.

The NPFL at the start of the second stanza of the season had revoked the earlier provisional approval granted the club. This followed observed deterioration of the pitch.
