Hojlund Shines As Manchester United Beats Luton Town

Danish striker Rasmus Hojlund scored a brace to secure a 2-1 win for Manchester United against Luton Town in their Premier League encounter, on Sunday at the Kenilworth Road stadium in Luton, England.

Manchester United started Hojlund in attack, with Marcus Rashford and Alejandro Garnacho supporting on the flanks. For Luton, Chiedozie Ogbene featured in midfield, while Gabriel Osho started in defence.

Danish striker Hojlund pounced on a defensive error to give Manchester United the lead after 37 seconds. Hojlund then made it 2-0 in the 7th minute to put his side in control.

The visitors were determined to stay in the fight with the support of the home crowd.

Luton Town fought its way back into the match and responded when Carlton Morris’ header reduced the deficit in the 14th minute.

In the second half, both sides created chances as they looked to claim the valuable three (3) points on offer. Manchester United were guilty of wasting several opportunities in the second half in a bid to extend its lead.

The visitors were almost made to pay for its wasted chances late in the game when Luton’s Ross Barkley headed against the crossbar in stoppage time. However, the scores remained 2-1 in favour of Manchester United as both sides could not find the net.

Manchester United have now won four successive games in the Premier League, pushing them closer to the battle for the top four.

The result means Manchester United have 44 points from 25 games, five points behind Aston Villa, who are fourth on the Premier League table.
