The Inspector-General of Police, Kayode Egbetokun, has reaffirmed the Nigeria Police Force’s dedication to upholding the rule of law and ensuring justice for all.

In a recent statement, the IGP assured the public that the Force remains steadfast in its commitment to equality before the law, emphasising that no one is exempt from accountability.

The IGP’s comments come as the Special Investigation Unit and Legal Section of the Nigeria Police Force conclude their investigation into the alleged misconduct of Hon. Alexander Mascot Ikwechegh.

The lawmaker faces charges of abuse of office, criminal intimidation, and criminal force and assault, which contravene Sections 397(b) and 265 of the Penal Code Act. The charges have been formally brought before the Kuje Magistrate Court.
