About Five suspected police officers and two prostitutes have been reportedly killed by hoodlums along a hilltop road in Abakaliki, the capital of Ebonyi State.

A source who disclosed this to Voice of Nigeria noted that the victims were reportedly killed in the early hours of Friday morning.

It was gathered that the massacre of the said police officers and prostitutes occurred close to a Gas station, Ebyia bridge along Hilltop/ Nwoke road.

Recall that, some police officers on patrol were recently attacked and killed by unknown gunmen in the same area.

Given this, Ebonyi State Police Command led by CP. Augustina Ogbodo had mounted a police checkpoint near the said Gas station, to avert attacks by hoodlums, a breakdown of laws and order in the area.

At the time of filing this report, the Commissioner of Police, Mrs Augustina Ogbodo said she was in a meeting and wasn’t disposed.

“Moses, I am in a meeting, please you can call my Spokesperson for information”, she said.

Also, the Police spokesperson, DSP Joshua Ukandu was not picking up calls nor responding to text messages sent to him at the time of filing this report.

Members of that area are calling on various Security Chiefs to deploy more hands for adequate security of the area.
