House of Reps Appoints Members into Joint Investigative Committee on Petroleum

The Speaker of the House of Representatives, Hon. Abbas Tajudeen, has appointed seven members into the Joint Senate/House Committee tasked with investigating alleged economic sabotage within the petroleum industry:

The Members are:
*Prof. Julius Ihonvbere* – Co-Chairman/House Leader
*Iduma Ighariwey* – Member
*Gboyega N. Isiaka* – Member
*Sada Soli* – Member
*Fatima Talba* – Member
*Tunji Raheem* – Member and
*Patrick Umoh, – Member”
The house said that the “urgency and importance of this matter have necessitated close collaboration between the Senate and the House of Representatives. This new structure aims to ensure synergy, a holistic approach to addressing the issues, and ease of administrative coordination, resulting in a harmonised and efficient investigation”.
The Committee is expected to commence its duties immediately, with a mandate to ensure accountability and transparency in the sector.
