The screening of the recently appointed Service Chiefs by the House of Representatives is currently ongoing at the National Assembly Complex Abuja.
The screening which is part of the criteria for the final confirmation of the nation’s security chiefs is being conducted by an Ad-hoc Committee constituted by Speaker of the House of Representatives, Tajuddeen Abbas.
The screening is being conducted by the Leadership of the House and the House Ad-hoc Committee on the Screening of Service Chiefs is chaired by Hon Babajimi Benson, with all the eight principal officers of the House from the majority and minority parties as members.
The appointees being screened are Chief of Defence Staff Maj. Gen. Christopher Musa, Chief of Army Staff Maj. Gen. Abiodun Lagbaja, Chief of Naval Staff Rear Admiral Emmanuel Ogalla, and Chief of Air Staff, Vice Marshal Hassan Abubakar.
