Zeustek ICT, a software development company, has trained 300 women in Plateau on artificial intelligence (AI) to enhance their business visibility.

Mr. Timothy Dakey, the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Zeusteks ICT Solutions, disclosed this on Wednesday in Jos at the company’s official launch of the JUMMAl AI application.

Dakey said the free training was the company’s way of giving back to society and ensuring that women were empowered in the technological sector.

He noted that women, especially those from the northern part of the country, were marginalised, and so the training would encourage women to leverage the use of AI in improving their businesses.

“We discovered that the trend in technology is advancing, but adoption in Africa is slow, so we came up with this free training in AI to promote their business,“ Dakey said.

He further said that Zeustek launched JUMMAI.AI, a generative artificial intelligence application developed in Hausa, is aimed at addressing the business needs of women in Northern Nigeria.

“The content of the APP is also fashioned to train and empower women with requisite digital skills, making them globally competitive like their pairs in other climes,’ he said.

Earlier, Prof. Goselle Nanjul, Plateau’s Commissioner for Science, Technology, and Innovation, commended Zeustek for the initiative.

Nanjul, said that the company’s vision aligned with the seven-point agenda of Gov. Caleb Mutfwang, which was chiefly predicated on leveraging technological tools to enhance people’s lives in the state.

He said that the training would help ease the administration’s quest to utilise e-governance, e-learning, E-Commerce, and Digital Economy thereby enhancing efficiency.

He expressed the government’s continuous commitment to providing an enabling environment for technology to thrive in the state.

Nanjul further charged beneficiaries to take advantage of the training to improve their livelihoods and that of society at large.

Some of the beneficiaries said the training was absolutely free, and they were now using the tools to improve their businesses.
