The National Commission for Refugees, Migrants and Internally Displaced Persons, is partnering with the National Information Technology Development Agency, NITDA, to train 10, 000 people of Concern on Information and Communications Technology, ICT.
The Director-General of NITDA, Malam Inuwa Abdullahi stated this at a meeting with the Federal Commissioner, National Commission for Refugees, Migrants and Internally Displaced Persons, Hajiya Imaan Sulaiman-Ibrahim at the NITDA office in Abuja.
Hajiya Sulaiman-Ibrahim said she was at the agency to strengthen their collaboration and enlist the Director-General’s support in areas of ICT training that would uplift and empower Persons of Concern in the country.
According to her, ”there is need to adopt a Smart Commission approach as proper data management will enhance a comprehensive discharge of the Commission’s mandate.”
The NITDA Boss said the Agency was elated to partner with the Commission while pledging to render the necessary support and assistance in the proper discharge of its mandate.
He further stressed the importance of training of the Commission’s staff, saying, “you can bring the best technology but if you don’t have a good manpower or trained personnel, it all goes to the wind”.
“We have a digital transformation working group for such partnership and training. We will set up a team that will work with your team and look for the training needed by the Commission’s staff and Persons of Concern,” he added.
