The Inspector-General of Police, IGP Kayode Egbetokun, has decorated ACP Aliyu Shaba and CSP Sentome Obi, recipients of the 2023 and 2024 Police Officer of the Year awards, respectively with their new ranks.

The decoration ceremony was held at the IGP Smart Conference Room, Force Headquarters, Louis Edet House, Abuja, Nigeria’s capital.

According to the police leadership, the promotion of both officers reinforces the Force’s commitment to recognising and rewarding excellence, discipline, and outstanding service to the nation.

IGP Egbetokun reiterated the decision of the Force Management to promote any officer who wins the Police Officer of the Year award, the IGP Commendation Award, or has secured a category award for two consecutive years.

“The doors of honour and recognition are wide open, but they will only come as a result of hard work, professionalism, excellence, and service discipline,” the Police Chief stated.

In a related development, IGP Egbetokun received a delegation from the National Pension Commission (PenCom) led by its Director-General, Ms Omolola B. Oluworaran, alongside the Managing Director of NPF Pensions Limited, Mr Kolade Morakinyo.

The visit, held at the Force Headquarters, included an extended interactive session attended by senior officers from the rank of Assistant Commissioner of Police and above.
