‘I’ll Prioritize Judicial Reform, If Elected’ – Kwara ADC Gubernatorial Candidate
Tunde Akanbi, Ilorin.
The governorship candidate of Africa Democratic Congress (ADC) in Kwara state, Barr. Issa Manzuma, says he would prioritize judicial reform, if elected.
‘Judicial deficiency has become necessary, because a good court system, no doubt, facilitates foreign investment aside from appropriate dispensation of justice.
‘The first thing which foreign investors often consider while establishing a business interest is how effective the judicial system is and what type of dispute resolution mechanism is operational in a state.
‘Therefore, the fact remains that a good court system is indispensable in the social, political and economic developmental effort of a nation,’ he said.
Speaking with newsmen in Ilorin, the Kwara state capital, the ADC candidate said his administration will ensure that resources are allocated to the sector to enable an efficient and effective judicial system in Kwara state.
‘If given the opportunity to govern, Kwara state will experience full implementation of Nigeria’s constitution requirements as regards the operation of the judicial arm of government.
‘My government will achieve effective administration of justice, as it will create the most conducive atmosphere for the court system.
‘I will ensure conduciveness of the judges and other judicial personnels including massive renovation of the courtrooms and provision of modern facilities,’ he reiterated.
The ADC governorship flag-bearer emphasized the need to make the court truly serve as the last hope of the masses, while appealing to electorates in the state to vote for the ADC and ensure his victory in the forthcoming governorship poll.
