Illegal Smuggling of Arms: Tasks Force to employ 4550 Personnel in Ebonyi

The National Tasks Force on Prohibition of Illegal Importation/Smuggling of Arms, Ammunition, Light Weapons, Chemical Weapons and Pipeline Vandalism (NATFORCE) has promised to employ 4550 Persons in Ebonyi State Southeast Nigeria.
The Director-General of NATFORCE, Baba Mohammed disclosed this when he led the delegation from his national Office Abuja the nation’s capital to pay a courtesy visit to Ebonyi State Governor, David Umahi.
Baba also promised that the NATFORCE Headquarters of Zone 12 office will be in Ebonyi State.
He said the main objective of NATFORCE is to reduce the proliferation of arms, ammunition and light weapons in the ECOWAS region.
“ECOWAS Member States consider the proliferation of small arms and light weapons as a major threat to peace and tranquillity within the ECOWAS region.”
He informed the Governor that all they needed from Ebonyi State Government is to give them the maximum support.
The Governor of the State, David Umahi used the opportunity to give NATFORCE a befitting office accommodation in the State.
Umahi also supported the office with Two Hilux Van for better operations.
“I urge you to always carry all Nigerians along in whatever they are doing as it is the only way the citizens can feel and have that sense of belonging and the spirit of oneness will always be there.”
He promised to always give them the necessary support.
