On her Spotify podcast ‘Archetypes’ on Tuesday, the Duchess of Sussex, Meghan Markle revealed that she is 43 percent Nigerian.

The Duchess unveiled this on the recent episode saying she learned this after taking a genealogy test to learn more about her family’s ancestry.

“I just had my genealogy done a couple years ago,” Meghan explains, as her guests eagerly ask her to share what the results entailed.”I’m 43% Nigerian,” she added.

On the episode Markle’s guests were Senegalese-American actress Issa Rae, Professor is Emily Bernard, and Ziwe Fumodoh, a Nigerian-American talk show host.

“I’m going to start to dig deeper into all of this because anyone that I’ve told, especially Nigerian women, are just like, what?”

They largely focused on the stereotype of the “angry Black woman” examining how the label continues to be a subject of conversation for many women of colour.

Wow! Abeg she should dig deeper…in fact, we should contribute abi donate excavators and jackhammers (moral support) to help her find out where in Nigeria her roots are established. She must come ohhhhh, and start training on how to eat Akpu, Furah, Isi-Ewu etc. We dey wait for her.

Wherever she deeply roots into is even inconsequential. The major point is that she’s a whole 43% Nigerian… Hahaha.. Wonderful! So good to hear.
