An educationist and philanthropist Mr Kenneth Imasuagbon has joined the Edo State off-cycle governorship race, as he picks his nomination and indication of interest forms in the Labour Party.

While picking his forms, Mr Imasuagbon said “This is very exciting for me. The form means change, positive change from labour to victory. This form means loyalty and obedience to the party. It means that the Labor Party is the party that is going to take charge of Edo State this year.”

Imasuagbon who was at the Labour Party’s National Secretariat in Abuja Nigeria’s capital said that by the form, he is “giving a yellow card to the failed government of Godwin Obaseki. By this form, I giving a yellow card to APC and PDP in Edo State. Enough is enough.”

While addressing the audience, Imasuagbon noted that the people of Edo state are “tired of the suffering. We are tired of the bad roads. We are tired of the insecurity. We are tired of electron rigging.”

He revealed that what sets him apart from the rest is his experience and passion for the Edo people.

Politics of Zoning

While speaking on zoning, Imasuagbon said “All I seek is justice, fairness, and equity. Justice for all aspirants.”

The educationist also stated his view on why he thinks Edo Central should get the LP ticket. According to him, it is the turn of Edo Central to produce the Edo State Governor in 2024.

Imasuagbon said he is equally fit and experienced in the political cycle because he had put in “20 years of hard work crisscrossing Edo State 10 times.

The Labour Party’s aspirant also added that among those aspiring for the governorship position “No man knows Edo State like me. Nobody has supported Edo people like me. The people of Edo are waiting to pay me back. Labor Party should give me the ticket, when they give me the ticket and I fly the ticket, it is finished.”

He also revealed why he defected from the People’s Democratic Party, (PDP) to the Labour Party. He said that the Edo state Governor has done nothing for the people of the state.

Imasuagbon also added that the contest will be democratic in the Labour Party and that he is “ready for any form of primaries, whether direct or indirect. I have what it takes to win.”

Imasuagbon also commended the Labour Party for the sale of forms stating that the price of the form is not too expensive when compared to that of APC and PDP.
