The Chairperson of the First Ladies Against Cancer (FLAC) and First Lady of Imo State, Barrister Chioma Uzodimma, has called for a united national response and stronger private sector investment to close Nigeria’s cancer care gaps, as she spearheaded a large-scale public health walk in Owerri to mark the 2026 World Cancer Day.
Leading thousands of participants through the streets of the state capital under the theme “United by Unique,” Uzodimma described the walk as a high-level advocacy push to demystify cancer and elevate it as a national health security priority.
She stressed that while cancer journeys differ, collective action remains Nigeria’s strongest tool against the disease.
