Imoleayo tipped to rule Nigerian heavyweight boxing
After recording six straight technical knock-out (TKO) wins since turning professional, the fear of Solomon Adebayo Imoleayo is the beginning of wisdom for heavyweight boxers in Nigeria.
Imoleayo turned pro barely five months ago with his debut professional fight against Omejeh Chimaobi in Ibadan but he has been short on opponents to face in that category.
Billed to fight on the Lewis Boxing Promotions Boxing Show on 21st May at the Balmoral Hall of the Federal Palace Hotel in Lagos but no Nigerian Heavyweight boxer has yet agreed to duel with him.
General Secretary of the Nigerian Boxing Board of Control (NBBofC) and President of the West African Boxing Union, (WABU) Remi Aboderin described Imoleayo as ‘the next good thing to have happened to Nigerian boxing in the heavyweight category’.
“The mention of Solomon Adebayo Imoleayo is the beginning of wisdom for other boxers in the Nigerian heavyweight category,” Aboderin said.”It can assure you that he will bring honour to the country in a short while.”
The heavy puncher who is under the Co-management of Devonne Canady Boss Lady Boxing Management and LPMG Boxing Management spear headed by Nigeria’s Nelson Ayelabowo and Malik Annur, is already being touted to surpass the record of the British born Nigerian boxer, Anthony Joshua in the heavyweight boxing category.
