“This is a forum for action, not lamentation. As media practitioners, it is our responsibility to promote unity and highlight the efforts of our security forces.”
He acknowledged that while there are still lapses, the country has made notable progress.
“For the first time in a long while, there is visible collaboration among our military chiefs. This is already yielding results in the battle against insecurity.”
The minister urged the press to amplify the successes of the armed forces, saying:
“We must continue to report the ongoing efforts of our military in curbing terrorism, banditry, and other security threats. Their sacrifices must be recognised and supported.”
He praised the administration of President Bola Tinubu, noting that several achievements, including debt repayment and economic reforms, are being complemented by visible security improvements.
“No government has achieved what Tinubu’s government has done within two years. Security is being restored, and the nation is stabilising.”
He concluded with a message of hope and unity:
“Together, we shall be safer handing our children the baton of progress and national cohesion.”
