In a powerful tribute to Nigeria’s military and security personnel, the director general emphasised that the event was not a forum for lamentation but a moment to honour their unwavering dedication and sacrifice. “Our heroes deserve to be celebrated for their resilience and selflessness. It is time we shift the narrative to reflect stories that commend their efforts,” he stated.
He underscored the need for collective national effort, asserting that the responsibility for security and development cannot rest solely with government institutions. “It is a shared duty. The media must rise to its role as a catalyst for unity and constructive dialogue, not a vehicle for division.”
With the theme “Renewed Hope Agenda: Citizens’ Engagement and National Security”, the event convened key stakeholders from the media, military, civil society, and diplomatic community to examine how credible information and active citizen participation can enhance national security and project a positive image of Nigeria.
