India’s daily COVID-19 deaths rise by 853, toll crosses 400,000
India has reported 853 new COVID-19 deaths in the last 24 hours, health ministry data showed on Friday, taking its total toll beyond 400,000 and new infections reported over the same period were 46,617.
India’s share of global active COVID-19 cases now stands at 4.42 per cent, the country is third among the most affected countries by active cases.
The active cases have further declined to 5,09,637, comprising 1.67 per cent of the total infections, while the national COVID-19 recovery rate has improved to 97.01 per cent.
A total of 4,00,312 deaths have been reported so far in the country.
