INEC Commences Collation of Governorship Election Results In Kano

The Independent National Electoral Commission,INEC, Kano State chapter north Western Nigeria has commenced collation of results for the Gubernatorial election that took place across 44 local government areas on Saturday.
The collation started exactly 2:51 local time Sunday evening.
Declaring the session opened the Returning officer, Professor Ahmed Doko Ibrahim, who is also the Vice Chancellor Ahmodu Bello University, Zaria, urged all participants to take the collation seriously as it was a heavy Civic duty with concern about how Kano state people will be governed in the next four years.
“I want you all to accord the excercise highest sense of responsibility,” he said.
He called on everybody to also obey the guidelines of the collation center for a smooth running.
The Kano state Resident Electoral Commissioner, Ambassador Abdul Zango equally urged all the stakeholders to respect the will of the people by ensuring that the right is done stressing that the collation of the Governoship election results is the last lap of the the 2023 election.
“We are here to declare whom the Kano people have chosen without fear or favour, “he said.
He said that there were some glitches during the election but people should focus more on the positive side of the excercise.
The collation is being conducted in the presence of political Party agents, security operatives, electoral observers, media among others.
Kano has 44 local government areas out of which 9 have been announced including Rano, Rogo and Kunchi LGAs.
