The Independent National Electoral Commission INEC in Kano state North Western Nigeria has commenced the distribution of sensitive and non-sensitive materials across the 44 local government areas of the state.
The Public Relations Officer of INEC KANO who spoke on behalf of the Resident Electoral Commissioner of the state Ambassador Abdul Zango said after the collection of sensitive electoral materials from the Central Bank of Nigeria CBN the agency commenced distribution of materials, especially to local councils far away from the state capital.
He said the Commission has concluded arrangements to ensure credible conduct of the election.
He explained that items being distributed included: the Bimodal Voter Accreditation system (BVAS), Ballot papers, for Presidential, Senatorial, and House of Representatives, result sheets and collation forms.
According to him, all officers to conduct the election have been trained and are also being posted to various locations for smooth conduct of the election.
He urged residents of the state to conduct themselves peacefully before during and after that election.
Most of the political party representatives and observers expressed satisfaction with the mode of the distribution, while security operatives mount guards as others escort the distributed materials to the various destinations.
