“Let me say that this is the second time of my personal interaction with you all at this secretariat since my arrival in Osun State as the Resident Electoral Commissioner.

“I must say that these engagements have been a major boost to the success achieved in our various electoral activities in the state.
The media in Osun State, both print and the broadcast, have contributed and still contributing significantly to the smooth running of our activities and with wide spread reportage.

“We have always had cause to be on the same page in terms of the correct and adequate reportage of the activities of the commission in the state. At least since after the conclusion of the 2023 general election till date, no misinformation had been reported by the media platforms in Osun State with respect to the activities of the commission,” he said.

Speaking on the Commission’s electoral activities, Agboke explained that the Continuous Voters Registration in the state would commence on August 18, 2025 with online registration, followed by physical registration as from August 25, 2025.

He stated that the notice of the 2026 Governorship Election would be pasted in all the 30 Local Government offices and the Area Office in Osun State on August 13, 2025, urging residents of the state and the general public to take note.

“For the online registration, the prospective registrant will only visit www.cvr.inecnigeria.org. He will complete the registration forms available on the website and later visit the Local government offices for biometrics capturing, which include, the facials and the fingerprint.

“The CVR shall commence physically on the 25th August, 2025 between the hours of 9am and 3pm at no fee. In other words, no staff of the commission shall demand for any money from the registrants.”

Agboke then called on all stakeholders in the electoral process to ensure that the right things are done in the interest of deepening the nation’s democratic ethos.
