The Independent National Electoral Commission INEC says by next week; it will display lists of voters registered in each registration Area and local government nationwide for claims and objections as required by law.

The INEC chairman, Professor Mahmood Yakubu, disclosed this at a meeting with media executives in Abuja.

Professor Yakubu appealed to citizens to use the opportunity to scrutinise the list and for the Commission to clean up the final register ahead of the 2023 general election.

He stated that the Commission is working hard to ensure completion of the printing of remaining permanent voter’s cards for new voters and those that applied for replacement of their lost or damaged cards.

“We will also inform Nigerians of a detailed plan to ensure a seamless collection of permanent voters cards,” he affirmed.

He urged the media to assist counter disinformation and misinformation and provide information to combat the menace of fake news.
