Candidates of the just concluded Gubernatorial and state house of Assembly in Benue State, north central Nigeria are waiting for results by the Independent National Electoral Commission, (INEC), while they upload results from polling units across the state.
The results from some polling units by the INEC revealed that the Benue State Governor, Samuel Ortom on Saturday lost the two polling units in Benue State Government House in Makurdi, the state capital to the All Progressives Congress, APC.
Ortom’s anointed candidate and the flagbearer of the People’s Democratic Party, (PDP) in the ongoing gubernatorial election, Engr. Titus Uba is competing against Reverend Father Hyacinth Alia of the All Progressives Congress, APC.
Governor Ortom, who is expected to complete his second tenure in May 2023, is one of the seven governors who lost their senatorial bids in the recently concluded Presidential and National Assembly elections.
