Information Minister opens Africast in Lagos

The Minister of Information and National Orientation, Idris Mohammed has declared open the 2023 AFRICAST organized by Nigeria’s Broadcast Industry Regulator, the National Broadcasting Commission (NBC)

The Premier Broadcast, Content and Digital Entertainment Event, Africast 2023 themed: “Broadcast Content: Synergy, Finance and Market,” is a convention for media stakeholders to come together and explore the latest trends, innovations, and opportunities in the sector.

The Minister stressed the role of Nigeria’s broadcast industry in President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s economic vision

Hosted by NBC and other industry partners, from Tuesday 24th – Thursday 26th October 2023, Africast is the destination event where the local and global industry players come to learn about and see the latest innovative technologies, services and products as well as how to access the market.

The NBC Director General Charles Ebuebu advocated for a robust viewership measurement system to boost advertising revenue and reduce reliance on big tech content monetization

“This convention is for anyone passionate about shaping the future of broadcasting and media in Nigeria, Africa, and the world as we explore cutting-edge technologies, trends, and strategies that will drive the broadcast media industry in Africa forward.”

The 2023 Africast special focus on all things content is emphasised through the expanded “Content Village” that will provide an opportunity for content creators, producers and distributors to engage in practical interactions that will enable them to connect, show and do business.
