During his first official visit to the First Lady at the Villa, the Minister of Information and National Orientation said the Renewed Hope Initiative was in line with the Renewed Hope Agenda of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, hence the need to ensure support.
“We all know that her role is largely to support Mr. President in the execution of his policies, but she also has her own Initiative,” the Minister noted in an official statement.
“We discussed that and how the Ministry of Information and National Orientation can help in disseminating that to the Nigerian public.”
Some of the intervention programmes of the Renewed Hope Initiative in education include the National Scholarship Programme, NASP, which was recently flagged off in Abuja with 46 beneficiaries drawn from Nigeria’s 36 states and the Federal Capital Territory. NASP is a four-year programme that offers one million naira per year and a laptop to each beneficiary.
Other interventions of the Initiative include ICT training for women and other empowerment programmes in agriculture and social investment.
