Insecurity: APC stakeholders pass vote of confidence on Governor Lalong

Stakeholders of the All-Progressives Congress have passed a vote of confidence on Governor Simon Lalong of Plateau State for the quick intervention and handling of the security situation in the Home of Peace and Tourism in the recent past, at a stakeholder meeting at government house little Rayfield.

The vote of confidence was moved by the majority leader of the Plateau State house of assembly Daniel Naanlong and seconded by House Committee chairman on information and member representing Pankshin North constituency Philip Dasun”.

” We have passed confidence vote on his excellence right honourable Simon Bako Lalong”. Lalong said.

Governor Simon Lalong said all citizens should be advocates of forgiveness and peace and that anyone calling for reprisal is an enemy of the state,

He said, ” anyone calling for reprisal is saying he does not peace, we thank God, God will shame the devil. If people want us to continue in conflict it will not continue, I am sure we will not go back to curfew again, Plateau is the home of peace and tourism”.

The governor informed the stakeholders that his meeting with President Muhammadu Buhari for more security deployment and relief materials to the state was successful as the President has directed the Minister of Humanitarian and Disaster Management, Sadiyya Farouk and the Director-General of the National Emergency and Management Agency (NEMA) to immediately provide and distribute relief materials, to be sourced and bought in the state, to all affected areas of Jos North, Bassa, Riyom, Barkin Ladi and Mangu LGAs.

The Governor also announced to the delight of the APC Stakeholders that the lingering crisis between the Plateau State House of Assembly and the Plateau State Government has been resolved with reconciliation and forgiveness made.

Long also advised that with the upcoming congresses and the Local Government Council Elections, “all stakeholders should mobilize members of the APC to start sensitising each other for the very important events in September and October 2021 respectively”.

The acting state chairman of the APC Enoch Fanmak commended the governor for rising to the occasion to stop the tide of violence towards peaceful coexistence in the state.

“I want to thank his excellence for the courage and wisdom that God has given him to tackle all the security issues in the state. We pray that God will continue to keep you and give you more strength to continue, we are solidly behind you by the special grace of God our enemies will be shamed”.

After a closed-door meeting, the stakeholders resolved to remain committed to the party and its indivisibility. The Condemned in its totality the wanton destruction of lives and properties in the recent carnage experienced in the State.

The APC members Commended the State Government for steps already taken so far to address the challenges and urged the Governor to remain resolute in providing good leadership. They directed members who have instituted legal actions against the party to withdraw such suites.

The stakeholders also resolved to proceed with the LGA Congresses according to the official timetable from the National Headquarters of the party and encourage consensus at the Congress with evidence of such consensus or elections provided for the records.

They also commiserated with the families of all those who lost their loved ones and properties in the recent attacks in Bassa, Jos North, Riyom, Barkin Ladi and Mangu LGAs. Praying for recovery for the injured.
