Insecurity: Ebonyi ALGON supports ‘Ebubeagu’ operations
The Association of Local Governments of Nigeria (ALGON) has given its support to the operations of ‘Ebubeagu’ security outfit in Ebonyi State.
The ALGON Chairman, Ebonyi State chapter, Southeast Nigeria, Mrs Chinyere Iyoku made this Known to Journalists in Abakaliki the State capital.
Iyioku said the state became peaceful since the inception of the security outfit.
“Residents can now sleep with their two eyes closed. ‘Ebubeagu’ was formed by the Southeastern Governors to end the insecurity which was ravaging the region ranging from killings by Herdsmen, armed Robert, cultism and banditry.
“The above-mentioned has drastically reduced in the State courtesy of Ebubeagu security outfit,” Iyioku said.
The State Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Matters, Barrister Samuel Okoronkwo, said the security outfit would change the bad security situation in the state.
“Ebubeagu will change you to good if you are a criminal,” Okoronkwo said.

The Acting Chairman of Elders Council Ebonyi State Engr Ben Okah urged the people of the State to support the Ebubeagu Operations to further secure the state.
“Nobody should bring crisis into the State, we have confidence in the present administration and we hope in our Governor Engr David Umahi because he is doing well,” Okah advised.
Traditional Rulers present at the meeting, Eze Sunday Oketa representing Ebonyi North Zone, Eze Dominic Alo of Ebonyi Central Zone and Eze Ewa Elechi of Ebonyi South zone said they are solidly behind the security outfit in the state.
Also, the Chairman, Association of Presidents of Town Unions, Chief Ugochukwu Akpa said Ebubeagu security outfit has come to stay.
