Governor Chukwuma Soludo of Anambra State has imposed curfew in areas affected by rising cases of criminal activities in the state.
In a broadcast on the security situation, he said a 6 am to 6 pm curfew has also been imposed on tricycles, motorcycles and Shuttle buses till further notice.
Some of the areas affected are; Aguata, Nnewi North, Nnewi South, Ihiala and Ekwusigo.
“Use of tricycles, motorcycles and Shuttle buses has been banned on Mondays till further notice.
“Any community and/or individual lands used as camps by terrorists will be forfeited by the government. Operation know your tenants for landlords as any house linked to any tenant caught indulging in crime – kidnap, arson, gun-running, drug dealing, rape, murder, armed robbery, possession of fire arms to be confiscated by the government.“
The Governor also placed a N1 million bounty on anyone who provides information on those offering support to criminals.
He added that compulsory Closed-circuit television (CCTV) would be installed in all fuel stations in the state and footage submitted to the security agencies weekly.
