As Muslims all over the world commence this year’s Ramadan fast,  Presidential Aspirant on the platform of the Accord, Amb. Dr. Solomon Uchenna Wining has urged the Muslims to use the period to seek God’s intervention to end the nation’s insecurity and other challenges currently confronting Nigeria as a nation.

Dr. Wining, who spoke through the Director media, Nze Nweke Nweke, noted that Ramadan, which is observed by Muslims in the ninth month of the Islamic calendar every year across the world, is also considered one of the most significant Islamic months.

The Accord Presidential hopeful urged Muslims to use the holy month to seek  God’s face and forgiveness to heal Nigeria and place the country on the path of prosperity.

“Muslims have a strong belief in the prayers offered in Ramadan. Extra emphasis is placed on reciting the Qu’ran at this time and I strongly believe that whatsoever our Muslim brothers ask Allah in this period, will be granted.

In such circumstances, I entreat our Muslim brothers to be committed to praying to restore the peace, unity, and tranquility of our nation as we have no other country to call ours except Nigeria,” he said.

The Accord Presidential Aspirant urges Muslims to utilise the one month of the fast to strengthen their faith and confidence in Allah, as well as spend less time on earthly things, noting that the period remains a time of worship and contemplation.

“Fasting is considered to be an act of worship, which enables Muslims to feel closer to God and strengthen their spiritual health and self-discipline.

“Even though I am not a Muslim, I understand that during the fast of Ramadan, strict restraints are placed on the daily lives of every Muslim to enable them to get closer to Allah.”

Dr. Wining further advised businessmen and transporters, to desist from unnecessary hikes in the prices of their commodities and services, adding that making an abnormal profit was a sin against God and man.

He thanked all Muslims and prayed for a successful and crisis-free Ramadan fast.
