International Friendlies: 9 Players Arrive Super Falcons Turkey Camp

Nine players have arrived in Antalya in Turkey ahead of Super Falcons of Nigeria’s International Friendlies against Haiti and New Zealand.

The friendly games are put together to help the Super Falcons head coach, Randy Waldrum perfect his strategy and plans before they travel to Australia and New Zealand for the 2023 FIFA Women’s World Cup.

Coach Waldrum invited 23 players for the games, including Barcelona Femeni striker, Asisat Oshoala and longtime absentee Desire Oparanozie.

The Super Falcons camp opened on Tuesday and according to the update on Super Falcons’ twitter handle, nine players have arrived camp in Turkey. They are: Yewande Balogun, Regina Otu, Esther Okoronkwo, Onome Ebi, Etim Inyene, Abiodun Deborah, Halimatu Ayinde, Vivian Ikechukwu, and Glory Ogbonna.

Coach Waldrum has also arrived in Turkey while still expecting 14 players for the games. The Camp officially opens On Wednesday in Antalya, with 9 players already in as at dinner time.

Nigeria will open the FIFA Women’s World Cup campaign with Canada on July 21st, before taking on Australia six days later. The last group game versus Republic of Ireland takes place on 31st July, 2023.
