Two religious leaders in Northern Nigeria have called on Stakeholders to resolve the strike action embarked by the Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU)

Pastor Yohanna Buru, the General Overseer of Christ Evangelical And Life Intervention Ministry, made the call in an interview with the journalists in Kaduna to mark this year’s International Youth Day.

According to him, it is high time for all the wealthy individuals in the country to collectively join hands towards resolving the long overdue strike that is affecting the standard and quality of education in the country.

He stressed that, as part of providing corporate social responsibility and humanitarian services, resolving the ASUU  strike is a collective responsibility adding that this is the right time for all the top celebrities, philanthropists, Nigerians in diaspora and other sports superstars across the country to show solidarity which is targeted at saving the education of the country.

“Majority of the students in most of these universities under ASUU are from poor homes, hence the need to come in and talk to Federal Government and ASUU to go back to the dialogue table.“

He called on the Performance Musical Association of Nigeria to organize a big musical concert that can generate some little amount of money so that ASUU can suspend the ongoing strike.

Similarly, sheikh Mohammed Abdullah Barnawa also called on ASUU and Federal Government to please go back to the dialogue table so as to end the 7 months strike

He then urged all Nigerians to be patriotic and be good citizens at any place they find themselves.
