Investors gain N441bn as equities stocks rebound

Trading of equities on the Nigerian Exchange bounced backed into positive territory on Wednesday as investors recovered from the one – day loss with a N441 billion gain to have the market capitalisation close at N33,500 trillion compared to N33,059 on Tuesday.
The all-share index closed higher at 61,523.57 basis point, being 1.33% higher than Tuesday’s 60,714.80 points.
The market sentiment also closed positive with 42 gainers as against 31 losers.
Top on the gainers list for the day was Learn Africa with a price gain of 9.97% and a closing price of N3.20k, followed by Golden Guinea Breweries with 9.95% price appreciation to close at N2.21 then Chellarams gained 9.77% to close at N1.46k.
On the losing side were Ikeja Hotel which lost 21.52% to close at N3.10%, followed by NEM Insurance Company with 10% loss and a closing price of N5.58k and Lasaco Assurance lost 10% to close at N2.07k.
FBN Holdings had the highest volume of traded shares of 89.2 million and was followed by Transcorp Nigeria also with 89.2 million traded shares.
