Investors at the Nigeria Exchange Group Limited, NGX witnessed a sustained positive sentiment in midweek transactions with gains on the shares of GTCO, WAPIC, Linkage Assurance Plc among others.
Trading activities at the Exchange closed on Wednesday as the All-Share Index appreciated by 31.43 absolute points, representing a 0.06 percent increase to close at 54,936.11 points consolidating the 54,904.68 points of the previous day.
The market capitalisation gained additional sum of N17 billion to close at N29.927 trillion higher than Tuesday’s N29.909 trillion.
Meanwhile, trading activity dropped with total deals of 2,479 which is -17.01%, the volume of trade ended positive with 134.15 million shares representing 5.01% while the value closed negative by -16.15% at N1.33 billion.
On price gain, 9 stock made it to the gainers table relative to 14 decliners.
Profit-taking activities were recorded in the market on GTCO, WAPIC and Linkage Assurance Plc shares as their respective prices increased by 2.44%, 2.44% and 2.22%.
On the flipside, NCR, FTN Cocoa Processors and JAPAUL Gold shares dropped by 9.69%, 6.90% and 6.67% on their respective prices.
Transcorp had the biggest volume for the day with 28.12 million shares worth N35.9 million exchanging hands in 67 deals. UBA followed with 21.23 million shares valued at N170.14 million in 137 deals.
