The Palestinian Ambassador to Nigeria, Abdallah Shawesh says two states solution is the only way forward in resolving the conflict between Palestine and Israel as recommended by the United Nations.

Ambassador Shawesh said this at press conference on an update on the ongoing war between Israel and Hamas, in Abuja, Nigeria’s capital.

He explained that “the ongoing crisis between the two nations started in 1917, when United Kingdom, the mandatory power at that time, gifted the historical homeland to the European Jewish people by issuing the Belfour declaration.

“This led to Al Nakba in 1948 when the Jewish military gangs succeeded to expel and ethnically cleansed the indigence Palestinian people from their ancient homeland, which made them to become refugees in Lebanon, Syria, Jordan, Gaza and the occupied West Bank, including East Jerusalem.”

The two states solution which was a UN resolution is what the Palaestinians have been yearning for and the only way this can be achieved is by letting the Israelis live the Palestine ancestral homes. Many are still trying to divert the discussion from the unconditional ceasefire to the humanitarian aids and how many trucks need to enter to Gaza and many other logistical details, this is a trap to pave the way to the Israeli occupation to continue with their genocidal and war crimes. No one should be trapped, we all should address the roots of the current humanitarian crises in Gaza, which is the frenzy Israeli war, what we need urgently is the ceasefire.”

Ambassador Shawesh accused the Israeli military of waging western war against the Palestinians and that the humanitarian situation had assumed an unlivable status with so many casualties from the Palestinian site.

He said; “We insist that October 7th cannot be isolated from its historical context, many decades of occupation, humiliation, torture, injustice, atrocities to the endless list of the Israeli practice and policies against the Palestinian people. The recent frenzy war has costed the Palestinian people the following: The number of Palestinian martyrs as of today exceeded 8700 in Gaza and 114 in the occupied West Bank, 73% of them are children women and elderly. The total number of the injured in Gaza reached more than 20,000, while in the West Bank it has reached 2000. In Gaza, the missing people under the rubbles around 1,500. The attacks on the health sector reached more than 116 of the health rescue staff and more than 100 injured, 25 ambulances completely became out of service and 25 require maintenance. One third of the hospitals, and 46 out of 72 of the primary health care in Gaza are out of service due to the direct attacks or the lack of fuel, all the hospitals are under a daily threat and they were requested to be evacuated many times.”

The Palestine Ambassador further said that, over 1600 Palestinians have been thrown to jail in the past month by the Israeli government.

“Palestine was ready to release all Israeli hostages if the jailed Palestinians were released as well. More than 1600 Palestinians are in Israeli jails from October 2023 to date. Every single day, Palestinians are arrested, tortured and jailed. We don’t have the freedom to post on social media,”Ambassador Shawesh said.

Palestinians maintained that they have the full right to self-determination and to be free, the basic and fundamental human rights that Israel and its western supporters are denying them from it for a very long time.

Israel has heavily bombarded Gaza since Hamas gunmen stormed across the border on October 7, killing 1,400 people, mostly civilians, and kidnapping at least 240 others, including children.
