ITPN Tasks New Fellows to Promote Professionalism, Leadership

The newly inducted Fellows of the Institute for Tourism Professionals of Nigeria (ITPN) have been charged to serve as worthy ambassadors of the Institute by upholding its ideals and principles, which include promoting professional excellence, demonstrating discipline, and exhibiting exemplary leadership at all times.

The National President of the Institute, Chief Abiodun Odusanwo, made this call during the induction of over 20 new Fellows at a prestigious ceremony held recently at the NAF Conference Centre in Abuja.

The event marked a significant milestone in recognising the valuable contributions of the inductees to the travel, tourism, hospitality, and allied trades sectors of the industry.

Chief Odusanwo stated that the Institute was delighted to welcome such a talented group of individuals into its esteemed fellowship. He noted that each Fellow was carefully selected based on their professionalism, demonstrated commitment to the advancement of tourism, and undeniable contributions to the socio-economic development of the nation through the industry.

In his address, the President underscored the importance of collaborative engagement, technological innovation, sustainable tourism practices, and harmonious relationships among stakeholders as essential for the sector’s desired growth and development.

He added that the newly inducted Fellows, drawn from diverse professional backgrounds, reflect a shared commitment to excellence in the tourism industry. Their induction, he said, exemplifies the Institute’s mission to promote professional development and uphold integrity within tourism practice nationwide.

Chief Odusanwo further explained that the selection of the new Fellows was based on their outstanding achievements, leadership qualities, and dedication to the highest standards of practice. The Fellows include practitioners from both the public and private sectors among them Directors from the Nigerian Tourism Development Authority (NTDA), industry leaders from the organised private sector, and retired professionals who have made immense contributions to the growth of the industry and continue to demonstrate strong commitment to its progress.

Attendees at the ceremony had the opportunity to network with industry leaders, engage in thought-provoking discussions, and celebrate the accomplishments of the new Fellows. The event also reinforced the importance of ongoing professional development, peer collaboration, and collective efforts to address the evolving challenges within the tourism sector.
