The Special Assistant to Ebonyi State Governor on Youth Mobilisation, Paul Eze, has applauded Ebonyi State Governor Francis Nwifuru for his inclusiveness of greater percentage of youth as cabinet members of his administration.
According to him, the youth inclusiveness has promoted productivity and as well reduced violence among the youths in the State.
Eze said 80 percent of the appointees in the government are youths. When you count elected officers, 70 percent are also youths.
“About 95 percent have been elected as youths into positions in the just concluded local government election. 98 percent were also elected as Councilors, and the same with the management committee members”. Eze said.
Youth Empowerment
Eze also disclosed that soon Governor Francis Nwifuru will commence the empowerment of 1300 youths across the entire 13 local government areas of the State.
He called on the youths to make judicious use of the empowerment to become employers of labour.
The Special Assistant urged the youths to give support to the present administration which is bent on people’s charter of needs.
The International Youth Day is a programme designed by the UN to work with young people around the world to drive social innovation and change, eradicate poverty and inequality, foster a culture of peace, and position youth as important partners in global efforts”.
The theme of the 2024 International Youth Day which is “From clicks to progress: Youth Digital Pathways for Sustainable Development” seeks to underscore the transformative power of digital technology in empowering young people to drive progress towards Sustainable Development Goals (SDG).
