Jaiz Bank Plc, Nigeria’s first non-interest bank, and Voice of Nigeria (VON, the country’s external radio service, are exploring ways to collaborate in supporting small and medium enterprises (SMEs) as part of the government’s Renewed Hope Agenda.

The bank’s management team, represented by its Head of Corporate Communications, Halima Ishaq, paid a courtesy visit to the Director General of Voice of Nigeria, Mallam Jubrin Ndace, at the corporate headquarters in Abuja on Thursday.

They discussed how the bank can partner with the radio service to achieve its mandate of promoting Nigeria’s image and interests abroad, as well as providing financial solutions to SMEs in line with the vision of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.

“The president is interested in creating opportunities beyond white collar jobs,” the VON DG said, adding that the bank can play a vital role in empowering entrepreneurs and private businesses.

“In us, you can find a willing partner in what you’re already doing and what you intend to do,” he said.

Jaiz Bank, which commenced operations in 2012, offers a range of products and services based on ethical and Islamic principles of fairness, transparency and social responsibility. The bank has branches across the country and plans to expand its network and digital platforms.

Voice of Nigeria, which was founded in 1961, broadcasts to the world in eight languages: English, French, Arabic, Kiswahili, Fulfulde, Hausa, Igbo and Yoruba. The radio service aims to inform, educate and entertain its listeners, as well as project Nigeria’s culture, values and achievements.
