Dr Jamil Isyaku Gwamna, a renowned politician and the Sardaunan Gombe, has re-joined the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) after four years in the All Progressives Congress (APC).

Recalled that Dr Gwamna left the PDP immediately after he lost the candidature for the governorship seat in PDP. Now, he exited the ruling APC about a fortnight ago.

Announcing his re-entry into the PDP in a press statement on Wednesday, February 23, Dr Gwamna said he made the declaration when he met the former governor of Gombe State and Gombe state PDP leader, Dr Ibrahim Hassan Dankwambo in Abuja.

“Your Excellency, we are here today for two things: to visit you and cement our existing relationship as brothers and also, to inform you that I have returned to the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP. I assure you, we are going to unite ourselves to return PDP to the government in the state in 2023.”

Dr Dankwambo thanked Gwamna and his entourage for visiting, welcomed him to the PDP, and assured him of his support and unity. “Sardauna is my brother, and I welcome him back to our fold. We’ll work together for the unity and the success of the party,” said Dr Dankwambo.

He further advised Dr Gwamna and his entourage to go back to the grassroots and mobilise people for the party ahead of the 2023 general elections.
