The Jigawa State Executive Council has approved additional funding for its free basic healthcare initiative, known as J-Basic, aimed at providing medical services to vulnerable groups and other residents across the state.
The Commissioner for Information, Youth, Sport, and Culture, Mr. Sagir Musa, disclosed this to newsmen on Tuesday in Dutse, following the council meeting.
He said the monthly capitation for enrolees in both the Formal Sector (217,134 people) and J-Basic Healthcare Programme (143,500 people) had been raised from N300 to N500 per person.
