Jigawa Governor’s wife donates to 1,700 orphans in Birnin-Kudu

Residents of Birnin-Kudu Local Government Area in Jigawa State have lauded the wife of the state governor, Mrs Amina Namadi, for her generous donation of food items and clothing to 1,700 orphans.

Some of the recipients spoke with the Newsmen at the distribution event on Saturday and expressed their gratitude for Mrs Namadi’s kindness.

Mrs Amina Zarainawa, who received a piece of wrapper, a bag of rice, millet, and books for her two orphans, expressed her appreciation.

She noted that while the community always provides support, this gesture from the wife of the state governor was exceptional and had brought great joy to the community.

Similarly, Mr Umar Birnin-Kudu, a guardian to two orphans left by his deceased brother, commended Namadi for her concern and support for orphans and vulnerable individuals.

The District Head of Birnin-Kudu, Alhaji Garba Hassan-Jibrin, also praised the governor’s wife during the ceremony, expressing his appreciation for the efforts of the Namadi administration in improving the welfare of the people.

Dr Muhammad Uba, the Chairman of the Local Council, described Mrs Namadi’s empathy as commendable.

He reiterated the local government’s continued support for its people through empowerment initiatives and assistance for the vulnerable.

Before the distribution, the governor’s wife reminded parents and the community of their responsibility toward orphans and vulnerable groups.

She commended the children in the community for their good behaviour during the event.

Namadi pledged her ongoing support for orphans and vulnerable individuals across Jigawa State and beyond.

She also recognised the local government chairman and traditional leaders for their longstanding efforts to support orphans in the community.

According to report, Mrs Namadi donated 1,000 pieces of wrappers, food items, and books to the vulnerable children in the Birnin-Kudu community.
