The Jigawa State Government in North West Nigeria has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with three security service providers to fortify the safety of critical public institutions, including schools, hospitals, and courts across the state.
Signing the MOU on behalf of the state government, the Secretary to the Government of Jigawa State, Malam Bala Ibrahim, said the landmark initiative reaffirms the government’s commitment to ensuring the security and well-being of its citizens.
He said the collaboration aims to implement comprehensive security strategies tailored to meet the unique needs of each institution.
The measures he added will include the deployment of trained security personnel and on-the-job training of teachers in Schools, healthcare workers in hospitals and judicial personnel in courts.
“The safety of our children in schools, our healthcare workers in hospitals, and our judicial personnel in courts is paramount. This partnership with security service providers is a proactive step toward ensuring that these essential services operate in safe environments, free from the fear of security threats.
“The Jigawa State Government believes that by prioritising security in these key sectors, it will foster an environment that encourages learning, healthcare delivery, and the proper functioning of the judiciary, thereby enhancing community trust in these institutions.
“This collaboration is not merely a response to immediate challenges but a strategic move towards long-term development and safety for all Jigawa citizens,” the SSG stated.

He urged all stakeholders, including parents, healthcare workers, and legal practitioners, to support this initiative for the collective safety of the community.
Zubairu Ahmed, who responded on behalf of the three security service providers, expressed their commitment to supporting Jigawa State’s initiative towards creating a safer and more secure environment in Schools, hospitals, and courts across the state.
“We are honored to partner with Jigawa State on this important initiative. We will do all what is possible to help Jigawa State achieve its ambitious enhancing community trust in these institutions,” he said.
He commended Governor Malam Umar Namadi for his commitment towards enhancing safety in schools, hospitals and courts across the state.
