The Oyo State Police Command has assured citizens and residents of the state of adequate security of lives and property before, during and after the June 12 celebration activities.

The assurance is contained in a statement issued by the state Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), SP. Adewale Osifeso.

In the statement, Osifeso affirmed that the Oyo State Police Command, in line with its statutory mandate of protecting lives and property through purposeful proactive policing, would on Sunday 12/06/2022 commence high- octane visibility patrols through the nook and cranny of the state.

He said this is in furtherance to its already established routine intelligence-led stop and search, convoy patrols, visibility patrols and coordinated surveillance activities with the purpose of asserting presence, availability and readiness to deal decisively with any peace-threatening advances.

Consequent upon this, the Oyo State Police Command appealed to parents, guardians and leaders in various capacities of influence to warn their wards or protegees against acts that could scuffle the relative peace being enjoyed in the state.

While assuring the people of the state of comprehensive and robust security coverage through efficient deployment of the Command’s security apparatus, the Oyo State Police Command wished everyone a peaceful and happy Democracy Day.

Osifeso, in the statement, urged everyone to go about their duties without the fear of molestation or harassment within and beyond the period.
