Kaduna base horticulturist plants thousands of trees for resistance desertification

Some group of climatologist and other horticulturists in the country has continued to expressed dissatisfaction over the increase disappearance of some plants species that are resistance to climate change and that support the fight against global warming, desertification and deforestation in most of the states in Nigeria.

Aminu Salisu, a Kaduna base horticulturist plants Thousands of trees annually resistance to climate change, such trees are Neem, Mahogany among others with the sole aims of protecting the trees from going extinctions.

He said ,Global warming, Timber business, tropical plants diseases, bush fire, firewood exportation and deforestation has contributed immensely to the declined of many plants species which are resistance to all forms of Climatic condition and ecology challenges in the region.

“Trees are gradually disappearing in the forestry day by day due to human irrational activities of cutting down of trees for Timber purposed, construction of houses and other domestic activities.

“Accordingly, Hundreds of wildlife are forced into migration as a result of climate change, Bush fire and scarcity of other plants in some of the forestry.

“To reduced the ecology factor I came up with the idea of planting thousands trees every year that can support toward protecting the environment against all forms of challenges that affects Human and animal in the forestry,”  he stated.

While Stressing that there are economic trees and other plant species that are resistance to climatic condition and now facing serious challenges associated to heat, Bush burning, charcoal ,and firewood business, hence the need to find a way of protecting the trees against climate change and environmental degradation.

Aminu added that Manogany trees play a significant role in protecting the environment and reduces the speed of turning some of the forestry to sahara desert.

He then called on ministry of environment, Non Governmental organization, religious leaders and traditional title holders to equally joined the Campaign against deforestation and global warming.

While appealing to wealthy individual to support Government and other environmental agent on trees planting Campaign, in order to save the environment against the increased burden of deforestation, desertification and other ecological challenges affecting the environment.

Similarly, the director African Climate reporters, Nurudeen Bello highlight on the importance of protecting trees species against going into extinctions.

“There is need to joined hands with all plants scientists and other stake holders to produce more plants that can grow faster in any place irrespective of the harsh weather condition.”

Abdulhadi Mohammed, an Environmentalist from Kaduna polytechnic also called on citizens to imbibed the culture of trees planting in the environment, planting of trees can save the environment against so many disaster which includes flooding and river bank erosion.
