Following the forthcoming by-election scheduled for Saturday, 16th August 2025, the Kaduna State Police Command has imposed restrictions on movement in the affected local government areas.
The restriction of movement is from midnight in the following Local Government Areas: Sabon Gari, Zaria, Chikun, and Kajuru.
In a statement issued by the Command’s PPRO, DSP Mansir Hassan in Kaduna, the Command explained that the measure is part of security arrangements put in place ahead of the elections in the affected areas.
DSP Hassan stated that the restriction aims to ensure public safety, prevent any breach of peace and guarantee a smooth and orderly electoral process.
According to the statement, members of the public are strongly advised to comply with this directive, as only personnel on essential duties and those with valid election duties will be exempted.
The Command, therefore, urged residents to conduct themselves peacefully and cooperate with security agencies to ensure a hitch-free election.
