The Kaduna State government has commended Nigeria’s First Lady, Senator Oluremi Tinubu, for promoting women and youths empowerment initiatives across the nation.
This acknowledgment came during the flag-off ceremony for the distribution of farm inputs and livestock to beneficiaries under the Renewed Hope Initiative, organized in partnership with the Federal Ministry of Agriculture.
Sani Kila, the Chief of Staff to Kaduna State Governor, Uba Sani, commended the First Lady’s initiative as a significant step towards alleviating poverty within the state.
He emphasized the importance of collaboration between Senator Tinubu and the Ministry of Agriculture, stating that such initiatives deserve robust support to ensure their success.
“This programme is poised to create employment opportunities for women and youths in various regions of the country,” Kila noted, highlighting the administration’s commitment to agricultural development and food security.
In his welcome address, the Commissioner of Agriculture, Murtala Dabo, said the initiative is encouraging women and youths to engage actively in farming and other agricultural ventures to secure their livelihoods.
He further explained that the initiative is designed to bolster Small and Medium-scale farmers in the state, thus positively impacting the local economy.
Dabo outlined the farm inputs distributed during the event, which included various brands of fertilizers, improved agricultural seeds, fish fingerlings, grinding machines, and other essential materials.
The wife of the Kaduna State Governor, Hafsat Uba Sani, reiterated Senator Tinubu’s dedication to supporting women and youths in multiple sectors.
“Make judicious use of these resources to better your lives,” Hafsat advised the beneficiaries.
Echoing this sentiment, Professor Sani Sambo, the state Commissioner of Education, cautioned recipients against selling the agricultural inputs, urging them instead to utilise the materials for their intended purposes.
Additionally, Jummai Bako, Kaduna State Head of Service, praised Senator Tinubu’s initiative, expressing confidence that it would foster socio-economic development in the state.
She called on various levels of government to encourage civil servants to engage in agricultural production as part of a collective effort to enhance the nation’s food security program.
As the Kaduna State government continues to prioritise poverty eradication and agricultural advancement, initiatives like the Renewed Hope program highlight the pivotal role of women and youth empowerment in fostering economic growth and stability.
