The facility’s transformation, driven by the philanthropic support of MAMIA Seeds Oil Ltd, highlights the crucial partnership between the government and private sector in advancing healthcare delivery in the state.

Speaking at the event, Hajiya Umma expressed gratitude to MAMIA Seeds Oil Ltd for their commitment to community development, describing the upgrade as a testament to effective corporate social responsibility.

“This initiative exemplifies how businesses can significantly complement government efforts to uplift the quality of life for citizens. By enhancing this facility, MAMIA Seeds Oil Ltd has demonstrated their dedication to fostering a healthier and more resilient society.”

The Commissioner also commended the State Governor, Uba Sani for his unwavering dedication to strengthening the healthcare system, noting that, the upgraded facility aligns with the administration’s vision of equitable access to quality healthcare for all residents of the state.

Hajiya Umma therefore urged stakeholders to view the achievement as the beginning of a broader journey to a healthier Kaduna.

In his welcome address, the Chief Medical Director of Barau Dikko Teaching Hospital, Professor Musa Tabari described the centre as a pioneering institution in Nigeria.

According to him, the upgrade has expanded the facility’s capacity to offer a wide range of specialized services, including audiology care for adults and children, speech-language therapy, ENT clinical and surgical services, as well as advanced endoscopic procedures.

Tabari highlighted the centre’s potential to become a hub for research and training in hearing and speech health, serving not just Nigerians but also patients from neighboring countries who previously lacked access to such care.

The newly upgraded centre is equipped with state-of-the-art facilities and a team of skilled professionals, positioning it as a sanctuary of healing for individuals with hearing and speech impairments.

These conditions, which can significantly impact education, communication, and social engagement, will now be addressed comprehensively through diagnostic, therapeutic, and rehabilitative services.
