Kaduna State Peace Commission with funding from Ford Foundation, through Enough is Enough Nigeria has produced and distributed more than 10,000 masks across the State to help curb the spread of coronavirus.

The Chief Executive Officer of the Commission, Priscilla Ankut lauded the support of the Ford Foundation and Enough is Enough Nigeria, saying that the masks when properly used in combination with other public health guidelines, will reduce the spread.

She said the masks which were distributed in schools and other public places will help make way for a turnaround in the fight against Covid-19 and mitigate its impact on the socio-economic wellbeing of Kaduna State.

Ankut disclosed that the masks were distributed with the assistance of the State Ministry of Education and the Kukah Centre along with the staff of the Commission to ensure that the masks reach the different schools and public places in the State.

“The donation of these masks from Ford Foundation is a great boost to the tremendous effort and steps taken by Kaduna government to flatten the curve through the various interventions it has put in place”.

“And the Peace Commission has supported these efforts since the beginning of the pandemic through sensitization on radio and TV, as well as the distribution of fliers”, she stressed.
