Kaduna State Chapter of Parliamentary Workers’ Association Suspends Strike

The Parliamentary Staff Association of Nigeria (PASAN), Kaduna State chapter, has suspended its strike action, which it embarked upon over non-implementation of financial autonomy.
The Union Chairman, Kaduna State Chapter, Abdurashid Abarshi, made this known when he led members of the Union to open the Assembly gate in Kaduna today, Tuesday.

Abarshi said the suspension of the strike action followed an agreement reached on all their demands between the national body of the union and Nigerian Governors’ Forum.

He said in the agreement, the Consolidated Legislative Salary Structure (CONLESS) must commence in the month of January, 2024, which means all state legislature must be captured in the 2024 Appropriation Law.
He further explained that by 28th of February 2024, if all agreements were not achieved, the Union would call on all members to re-embark on another strike for the full implementation of their demands.
He appreciated the support of all members, security agencies, and media correspondents, among others.
The chairman concluded by encouraging all staff members to resume their normal activities for the progress of Kaduna State and Nigeria in general.
