Kaduna State Governor Commends NYSC On National Development


The National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) has been commended for its exceptional contributions to fostering national unity, integration, and socio-economic development since its establishment.

The Kaduna State Governor, Senator Uba Sani, gave the commendation during the opening ceremony of the 2024 Batch ‘B’ Pre-Orientation Workshop held in Kaduna, Kaduna State, North-West Nigeria, with the theme “Emotional Intelligence: An Indispensable Tool for a Successful Orientation Programme.”

Sani who was represented by the Commissioner for Human Services and Social Development/Chairman, NYSC Kaduna State Governing Board, Hajia Rabi Salisu acknowledged the Scheme’s efforts in encouraging patriotism and aiding national development among graduate youths through its activities.

He commended the NYSC for organising the workshop, which would help evaluate the Scheme’s performances and improve its efficiency.

The Governor reaffirmed the State Government’s commitment to supporting NYSC Kaduna Secretariat in achieving its objectives, recognising the significant impact the NYSC is having on the lives of Nigerian youths.

his welcome address, the NYSC Director-General, Brigadier General Yushau Ahmed, emphasised that “the workshop provides an opportunity to review previous orientation courses, identify areas for improvement, and enhance the overall performance of subsequent programmes.”

General Ahmed said that “the workshop aims to enrich the content of the orientation programme, ensuring a seamless and successful Orientation Course for Camp participants.”

He also urged participants to leverage the workshop to achieve a hitch-free programme.

The Director General acknowledged the invaluable support of stakeholders to the Scheme, encouraging participants to capitalise on the invaluable resources of the workshop.

The Director of Planning, Research and Statistics, Alhaji Ahmed Ikaka, disclosed that the Orientation Camp being the first point of contact for Corps Members creates a lasting impression in their minds, hence, the need for proactive measures that would create a wonderful experience.

Participants at the workshop include; NYSC Top Management, Camp Directors and Camp Commandants designate, State Coordinators, Heads of Planning, Research and Statistics departments nationwide, officers from NYSC Area Offices and the National Directorate Headquarters Abuja.
