Kaduna State Governor Pledges Support for Military to End Terrorism

Kaduna State Governor, Uba Sani, has pledged the cooperation of governors with the military towards ending the activities of bandits and terrorists across the country.

Sani pledged at the Ahmadu Bello Stadium, Kaduna, yesterday, when he laid the wreath in honour of the country’s fallen heroes to mark the Armed Forces Remembrance Day.

While reacting to cases of banditry and attacks reported recently in Kaduna and parts of Abuja, the governor noted, with dismay, that the fight against terrorism had, in recent weeks, suffered setbacks.

He, however, expressed confidence that the Armed Forces would live up to expectations by ending banditry in the country.

Speaking with Journalists after the ceremony, which had in attendance commanders and commandants of military commands and formations in Kaduna, Sani said: “The country will never forget fallen heroes, who fought and died in defence of Nigeria’s territorial integrity”.

“Today’s event offers us the opportunity to honour our veterans. It also allows us to reflect on the sacrifices, bravery, and commitment of our fallen heroes, who lost their lives in the defence of our territorial integrity. We must appreciate our armed forces generally and other security agencies in Nigeria for their efforts in trying to ensure that we have peace.”

The governor, after laying the wreath, visited wounded soldiers at the Nigerian Air Force (NAF) Hospital, Kaduna, and 44 Nigerian Army Reference Hospital, where he donated medical equipment and other items like wheelchairs, blankets and other medical supplies to the hospitals.
